Welfare Rights Centre can offer organisations in South-East Queensland low-cost, half-day training sessions designed to increase the skills of workers to support people to access the appropriate social security payments.
Areas covered in the training include:
• An overview/understanding of the social security system
• Knowledge of the range of payment types (pensions, benefits and add-ons)
• How to appeal a Centrelink decision (including appeals stages and potential risks)
• Common Issues (e.g. Activity testing and debts)
• Interactive Case Studies illustrating common problems presenting to Welfare Rights Centre
